Energy Savers: Heat Pump Systems
For climates with moderate heating and cooling needs, heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. Like your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to move heat from one place to another. During the summer heat pumps remove heat from inside your home and move it outdoors. During the winter, heat pumps are able to capture warm air from outdoors and move it into your house. Because they move heat rather than generate heat, heat pumps are very energy efficient.
